Galfer Brake Pad Comparison
For most riders in most conditions, Galfer Performance pads are going to give the best performance.
For UK winter riding, the red Advanced pads will work better in mud and rain, and last longer in gritty wet conditions.
The Pro pads are more of a racing pad, using a softer compound, which means you'll have full braking power in the first corner, even if you've been on a cold moor waiting to drop into a race stage.
eBike pads are designed to cope with the extra weight of an ebike without fading on long runs.
Bedding In: To get the most out of your pads, take five minutes to bed them in properly! Run the brake pads correctly by braking sparingly and gently, allowing the brake system to cool, for about 2 minutes downhill or braking 20–25 times per wheel, until all the friction surface is well-marked on the disc.
This process is valid for all compounds except for the Pro G1554T, which does not require bedding-in.
Galfer Performance Brake Pads
All round performance brake pads, suitable for most riders looking to upgrade their brakes in general riding conditions.
Galfer Advanced Brake Pads
Similar power and wear to Galfer's Performance pads, but with improved wet weather and mud performance.
Galfer Pro Brake Pads
Loads of power from cold. For racing where you need the maximum power from the first corner to the last.
Galfer eBike Pads
High performance pads resistant to the extra heat created by the weight of eBikes.
