All new for 2026, the Marin TAM range fits right in with the current trend for more capable short travel bikes. It's like Marin took the "Made For Fun" concept and applied it to XC bikes; the TAM is built to be fast and light climbing but the specs and geo say it's going to brake, steer and handle more like a trail bike when you descend. It's also light enough to be fun on trails that don't rely on gravity for speed.
This is the lightest full suspension frame Marin have made - 2.6kg for size large without a shock, and we expect complete bikes to come in just under 13kg. Marin have got the weight right down, almost as light as the competition's far more expensive carbon bikes.
Slightly slacker head angles compared to the current Rift Zone range (65 degrees compared to the Rifty's 65.5) help the TAM take full advantage of the 130mm fork travel. Chainstays are a little bit longer too, 435mm vs 430mm.
The new TAM is the bike for you if you want to do more than just slowly pedal an enduro bike up a hill then descend. It's made for bigger days, fast lunchtime laps and maybe the odd XC marathon race.
Specifications
Three spec levels are available. The base model TAM 1 incredible value for money, with a dropper post and 4 piston brakes for £1899. For not that much more (£2599), the TAM 2 upgrades to Shimano Deore brakes and 12 speed drivetrain, along with Fox Performance level suspension.
Top of the TAM range is the XR, which ups the suspension to Performance Elite and the drivetrain to Di2 electronic shifting. The XR also features WTB's new KOM Light wheels and SRAM Motive brakes.
Mini mudguard keeps mud out of the main pivot.
Rear flex stay with brake mounted on the more rigid chainstay.
XC tuned IsoTrac suspension.
